The CrimeOn Wednesday evening, January 23, 1974, an intruder came into the front yard of the home at 124 Marine Street and administered several lethal blows with a large hand held machete to the arms, hands, body and head of Athalia Ponsell Lindsey; leaving her dead and in open view of neighbors and passers by.
